A Full-Circle Moment at Falls Lake

Building Legacy at Falls Lake: An Eagle Scout Project Revisited 15 Years Later

In 2010, I had the opportunity to complete my Eagle Scout Service Project by building a boardwalk at the Falls Lake MST Trailhead. At the time, I didn’t realize that project would come full circle 15 years later.

This fall, another Eagle Scout candidate and his troop took on the challenge of re-decking and restoring that very same boardwalk. I was proud to lend a hand — donating labor, sharing construction expertise, and helping coordinate discounts on materials through Home Depot.

Working alongside these Scouts reminded me of where my own journey in construction began. What started as a service project has grown into a lifelong passion and the foundation for what eventually became Pro 163 Construction.

The collaboration between Troop 352, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and local partners resulted in more than $10,000 in total cost savings — a true testament to what can happen when a community comes together with a shared goal of giving back.

At its core, this project represents more than lumber and nails — it’s about mentorship, leadership, and legacy. I’m grateful to have played a small part in helping the next generation of Scouts carry forward that same spirit of service and craftsmanship.
